Maytag dryer heating element works but no heat in drum

My Maytag electric dryer MDE2400 is not drying the clothes. The heater element gets really hot but no heat gets to the clothes in the drum. Please help.

Check the dryer vent and blower housing for lint build up.

Thanks for your reply. I cleaned both out and problem persists. The heating coil gets really hot but none of that heat seems to get through to the clothes in the drum.
