Maytag side-by-side refrigerator. We had a spill of Turkey Juice over Thanksgiving. Just noticed bad smell and tracked it down to the drip pan located in the bottom under the fan and condenser.

The problem is that the drip pan (PN [COLOR=#0000ff]AP4372539[/COLOR]) runs almost the whole side-to-side distance of the unit and is blocked in by the fan assembly and other things. We need to clean the pan, and want to remove it to clean it, possibly even to replace it. Is this possible? We can’t figure it out. Any help would be appreciated.

Usually you remove the toe kick and pull it out the front.

Thanks for the advice. Doesn’t seem to work that way with this model. The condenser coils run the length (L-R) of the underside and seem to block the drip pan removal from the front.

The pan moves a half an inch or so, but is an odd shape that weaves into the braces for the fan assembly and even around the condenser.

If you attempt this be very, very careful that you do not put any strain on the copper tubing.

I also would not try it by myself as you may need an extra pair of hands or two.
