Tonight the dishwasher began to fill and after a couple inches of water gathered in the bottom it just stopped. The timer continued to run and it did “click” when it changed modes. Any suggestions?

Try different cycle types and timer dial locations.
You need to find out more about what will run and what will not, re: can you get it to drain etc.
Could be the motor start relay.
Thanks for the links. This morning I closed the door and it ran a full cycle. I’m not sure if a thermal overload tripped and reset itself or not? As far as what cycles would run, none of them. The timer continued to spin and no other cycles started.
