Main Symptom: Water not fully being pumped out
What happens & when: Pump randomly kicks on and doesn’t stop for a long time. Clothes remain dripping wet when I pull them to the dryer.

I have washed dog blankets and covers which likely has clogged the filter and/or hose. I would like to inspect and clean everything, but I can’t find the proper way to simply access the filter. Diagrams make it look like I have to take the entire machine apart to access the pump filter, which seems like an idiotic design flaw if true?

The “pump filter” AP6017205 on this model is more like a cap secured to the inside bottom of the outer tub with just enough of a gap between them to allow water through but not much else. The only way to remove that part is by removing the inner tub. Your best bet would be to disconnect the drain pump and the hose from the pump to the tub, check the pump and hose for blockages, and look inside the port on the tub for blockages before removing the inner tub.
