Maytag Bravos XL noisy spin

Main Symptom: Washer has gotten noisy when it’s spinning out, even when it’s empty. Washer sounds exactly like a car with bad wheel bearings when it’s on a spin cycle. It is getting louder as it goes faster. I’m sure a bearing of some sort is bad but can I just buy ball bearings?

The noise is coming from the gearcase, there are no tub bearings, there is just a tub seal to keep the water from leaking out. You will need to replace the gearcase.
