I have a Maytag Dishwasher model MDB8750AWW. It does not work. The front panel (when it does come on) the display shows a 50 second timer and the lights flash incrementally, first the two outside lights, then the next set in on both sides, and it continues untill all lights are illuminated…then it starts all over again. When the 50 second timer gets to 0 it too starts over again. It’ll do that for days if I let it. I took the control panel off and about half way down the ribbon an inch long area across the entire ribbon looks overheted. All the traces are in tact. I examined the control board and saw no evidence of any problems. Question 1…what is wrong and how can I fix it. Question two…what went wrong and how can I avoid it in the future?
