Loud vibrating electric dryer

My dryer vibrates like crazy and is very loud. I found a broken motor clamp, thought that was the problem but it is still the same. I rotated the drum manually and it seems fine. Help!

Interesting and somewhat unusual problem. I would start by replacing the rear rollers, the belt and the pulley/tensioner. The rollers in particular may be worn unevenly, and this is not something you can see or tell by just turning the drum by hand.

Thanks, ordered the maintenance kit. I hope it helps but I dont think it is the answer. The motor looks as if it is what is causing the noise by vibrating up and down. I will post what happens when I get the kit and install it.

I think you maybe are correct, which may mean there is something broken in the motor housing.

Found problem, the blower wheel housing was packed with lint. It caused the motor to vibrate which broke the clamp holding the motor down. When the clamp broke it started to wear away at the bushing that the clamp was supposed to be holding down. Dont know why there was that much lint in the blower wheel housing. Dryer works fine now - had to replace motor, the bushings aren’t sold separately.

Well that is unusual, and check for holes in your lint filter screen.

Thanks for the update. Happy 2011
