Without thinking, I inadvertantly opend the top load door to the washer as it was going into the spin cycle., and was met with a loud knocking sound, which is in sync with the revolutions of the tub!
Though the machine still seems to do a normal wash, this noise is persistant a the end of the spin cycles, and also if the power is switched off during the spin cylce.
Can anyone tell me what part is most likely broken, or out of place, and the quickest way for me to get it out.
I have already opened the machine, but seeing how compact all appears, I prefer some advice befor going further.
Can I cause further damage by still using the machine until I can get a replacement part(I am in the middle of the indian ocean)
Thanks
hi
i often open the door when it is spinning and always has this brakeing noise. i nve paid attention to the noise. knock on the wood, it is still running. not sure if you should try a second wash and see if there is more loud noise or leaking. mine is whirlpool and is 15yrs old
repairjji Thanks for your reply
However I am not sur that the noise I have is normal, as it is very loud, and also now occurs at end of normal spin cycles.
Definately sounds that if somthing is not yet broken it may be sometime soon!
Any other ideas??
Hi,
to my experience, washing machine always making loud noise at the end. It is like the machine spinning really fast and then all in sudden, a quick stop with noise. Since i never stay close with the machine, it never bothers me. I will do a wash later today and stay close towards the end and find out. How long and how loud is the noise of your machine? Scale from 1 to 5 so i will use that as a reference.
