Loud, Constant Popping Noise During Spin and Leak

Purchased front-load washer about 4 months ago. For a while now it’s been leaking at the bottom of the door (on the hinge side). Now, and much worse is that all of a sudden, during the spin cycle it started popping - LOUDLY. It’s a constant pop. The speed of the drum spinning determines the rate of the pops. If I freely spin the drum with my hand I can hear a single pop about every 2 rotations… of course the faster it spins the more pops you hear. ugh! I cannot believe I’m having these problems with a brand new machine.

Let me also mention that the leak is not coming from the door - checked that - it seems to be coming from the bottom of the upper housing.

Any ideas both about the dad-gum leak and now the loud, constant popping noise??

I’m back - I’ve found the problem - being a stay-at-home-wife there are many times I have to tackle the troubleshooting of a particular problem by myself. Considering it was late night when I posted, and figuring that I wouldn’t get a response anytime soon, I decided to take the back off the washer and see if I could “eye ball” the problem. Sure enough - there it was. The drive belt has separated and cracked. And just as surely, with every spin the rubber would mound up on one side of the pulley and POP as it was forced past. Guess I’ll be breaking a nail come morning (after the parts store opens) so I can resume my household chores.

Hope my problem and solution helps someone else.
