I’m reassembling the freezer on this unit. I was putting the icemaker back when this part hit the floor. Where does it go?

This part should snap into the back wall of the freezer section. see part breakdown:

Thanks - that seems the logical spot, but I haven’t been able to get it to fit. Here is a link to an image of the spot you’re indicating (and where I’ve been trying to snap it), with the loose part sitting in the icemaker platform below.

Is this the correct orientation, just a couple inches below the intended spot on the back panel?

What’s the name of the part, and what is it supposed to do?

Does it cradle the water spout?

Thanks!

The part in question is not needed; the manufacturer does not even list it on the parts list, and it is not available. It was likely a filler used before the optional ice maker was installed.

Thanks - what do you think it was supposed to do originally?

Also - I don’t remember the icemaker being optional when I bought it - but it was huh?

It was likely there to cover the hole where the fill tube comes through if an ice maker were not there. The manufacturer never listed it in the parts list and never had a replacement for it.
