Lint filter wont seat properly

Main Symptom: Lint Filter not sitting properly in Duct
What happens & when: Clothes get caught on edge of filter. Dryer keeps running, end up with a tightly wound “rope” of wet clothes.

Customer says they used dryer rack with a pair of sneakers. Sneakers came off rack and were banging against the drum, etc. Looks like the LG Duct may be slightly bent, but could it be something else. First inclination is to replace the duct and filter.

It does sound like the duct and filter would be the right way to go for replacement.
