The other day my washing machine stopped going into the spin cycle. The agitator still worked, filled and drained properly, just didn’t spin so clothes came out dripping wet. I read around and thought that the problem was a worn out clutch. Bought a new one, replaced it, still no spin. I then proceeded to rip apart the agitator and tub to see if I could see anything. What I found, and I think is the problem, is that the lint filter - I think that’s what it’s called, the plastic piece that the metal tub sits on or spins on is stuck to the actual outer tub. I assume that should be freely spinning with the metal inner tub? I found this diagram online, 12.

I broke it while messing around with it so I’ll have to replace it no matter what… but before I bought it I wanted to confirm that this part should be spinning with the inner tub was the problem.
Thanks!
