We’ve been having lint problems on our washer for the past few years (Ser # CL0365818) and saw the AP3094570 filter plug kit and read that old ones may cause lint issues.
I removed the agitator to inspect our machine and there was nothing in the four tub holes. However, UNDER each of the four holes was a whitish piece of plastic with “channels” that run radially from the center of the tub to the wall of the tubs. I don’t know the size of these white pieces or the length of the channels because they are under the tub. Also, it looks like some of the channels are plugged with gunk.
Is this filter plug kit not applicable with our machine?
Also, could the gunked up channels be causing the lint issues?
We’ve tried using different detergents (powder, liquid, cheap, expensive) and nothing helps.
It looks like these plugs do go on your model, go ahead and put them in.
The other thing I think you want to do is to take off the cabinet and take off the pump and clean it and the hoses to make sure the water is flowing stgrong when it leaves the tub.
Thanks for the reply. The white plastic pieces that I was talking about are so tight up against the underside of the basket that I don’t think I can press them in. Do I just press harder?
I think I have a water pump leak so replacing the pump will address the pump.
I almost never replace those things so I am not sure what the problem is. When you have the cabinet off to change out the pump see if you can raise the basket enough to get them in.
I know, I’m resurrecting an almost 2 year old link but I finally got back around to working on this. I got the tub out and it has the old large white lint filter under the tub. Am I supposed to remove this large plastic filter and plug the 4 holes with the newly designed lint filters? This large white filter looks like it “snaps” in place at 4 holes of the tub, do I just leave these holes open? Thanks
