My washing machine had a lid switch go bad a few weeks ago. The symptoms were that it would fill up with water, but it would never spin. I checked the lid switch and when I reached in to touch it, it basically fell apart in my hand. I ordered a new one and it worked fine for a few days then it too stopped working. I thought I had ordered a faulty switch, so I sent that one back and got another one. The second new switch followed pretty much the same pattern. It worked for two or three days and stopped. Thinking that these switches from the supplier must be junk, I ordered a third switch from a different supplier and again, I had the same thing happen. So, I assume there is something up with this washing machine. It’s as if the washer is ruining the switches. What could be causing this and what is the best route I should take to fixing this extremely annoying problem?
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
