LG Washer not powering on

What happens & when: Nothing happens when pressing the power button

Error Code (if any): No codes
Parts or tests already tried: There is power coming from the control board to the panel, but the panel won’t turn on/light up. Checked the noise filter and that is fine. Tried unplugging and plugging back in, tried to “reset” by holding the power button for 5 seconds then start for 5 seconds, neither worked. Prior to the unit not turning on at all, we were having an issue where sometimes after a load finished, the drum light would stay on and the unit would not power on/off. I would unplug it for a few seconds, plug it back in, and then it would work. There would also be random instances where we would shut the door, hit the start button, then it would start beeping and the door would be popped open. We figured we would have to replace the door lock, but before we got to it, it now won’t power on at all. Could a faulty door lock cause the power to not turn on at all?

A faulty door lock can cause problems with the main control, but it wouldn’t stop the user interface from turning on if it’s still getting power. From what you’ve described, it sounds like the user interface control itself has failed. Thanks, that’s what I was thinking, I saw it was discontinued so I was hoping I was wrong and it was something else. Ah well, it lasted a long time, replaced just about every other part over the years!
