Brand: LG Model Number: WM8100HVA Main Symptom: clothes very wet at end of cycle What happens & when: The washer cycle runs as usual, but there is a strange noise that goes on and off for several seconds at a time near the end of cycle (for the last few min), and then the clothes will still be very wet when it is all finished. There is no standing water in the tub, but if I spin the tub with my hand, I can hear some water sloshing (like just below the tub). I did the step where you drain the water at the filter just below the tub (drained enough to fill a 2 gallon bucket about 2” deep). I checked the filter and it was pretty clean, nothing of note there. This has been going on for about a week. If we do smaller loads, its not as bad, but the larger loads seem to be more soggy.
The drain pump (AP5328388) was replaced last May. I am wondering if the new pump is beginning to fail as well?
Error Code (if any): no error code.

I did a Rinse+Spin as suggested with a small load and it seemed ok. There was still some buzz around the pump, but the clothes were not soggy. I drained the hose below the tank and did not get a lot of water (1/4 inch in bucket). But then, since I had some wet clothes that were not washed with soap, I added some more clothes to make a normal/medium load and ran a normal cycle. It went along fine, same buzz around pump area, but this time, right when the cycle finished, and the lock function released the door, the sprayer at the top of the tub window came on and started spraying the clothes. The washer was effectively off, except some lights were still on, and its spraying water on the clothes! I waited a few seconds, but then opened the door, and the spraying stopped. The clothes were soggy (probably more soggy than the few seconds of spraying accomplished). I drained the hose below the tub and got a lot of water (2 inches in the bucket). Then I did a rinse+spin, which worked fine and got the clothes back to damp so I could put them in the dryer. I don’t know what to make of that spraying, never saw that before. Will need to do some more testing.
That odd spraying has me wondering if there might be an issue with the pressure system or the pressure sensor 6601ER1006G.
Before replacing anything I would put a couple of cups of white vinegar in the tub and run the Tub Clean cycle with the unit otherwise empty. This should clean out the pressure system of any detergent residue that might be confusing things.
If the issue keeps up after that I’d consider replacing the pressure sensor. It sounds like the washer is draining so I don’t think that pump is an issue, just that the pressure sensor or system is confusing things.
Thanks. The pressure switch sounds promising. We had another incident earlier today where we pressed ‘Add Garments’ after the cycle was already getting started. Normally it would drain the tub before unlocking, but today it unlocked with water in the tub. It normally would never do that. We tried the same thing again later on another cycle, but it worked correctly the next time (did not unlock). So, yes, it seems to have some intermittent problems knowing if there is water in the tub or not. I think I’ll try replacing that pressure sensor.
