LG top load help needed

I have a 10 year old LG WT1701CW top load washer. It is a direct drive with the “True Balance” system. Recently, the washer had began to shake violently during the high spin cycle. Since they have never been serviced, I suspected the suspension rods needed replacing. Picked up a new set. These are the type that in addition to connecting to the drum base and at the top cabinet 4 corners like most out there, they also have a short horizontal damper arms that connects to the upper portion of the drum. The grease on the old rod ends was sticky like glue so the changeout was due. I did notice prior to changing out the rods that the tub was making contact with the cover piece since a little bit of the plastic was chewed up.
I finished the job and double checked everything before buttoning it all back up. Ran it with a small load and it still shakes like hell when spinning.
I then suspected the balance ring may be bad. But when I jerk the empty drum back and forth quickly, I can hear fluid swishing around. I did run the machine in the “spin only” cycle dry with nothing in it and the tub still had a considerable amount of wobble. As I mentioned above, it sounds like the balancer ring has fluid but I have no idea how to test if it is working correctly. The machine does not make any abnormal sounds like a bad bearing etc. I did change out the clutch assembly a year ago after the agitator plate came loose due to a broken spline. Everything worked fine after that particular repair.
Any ideas? I am stumped. Thanks.

I figured out what was wrong. Noticed a bit of slop with the tub in conjunction with the agitator plate. I pulled the plate and found the 38mm nut that holds down the tub was loose. Everything looked OK so I cleaned everything up and put it back together with some Loctite. Will run it tomorrow in order to give the thread locker some cure time.
