LG Top Load Code E6

Was given washer for free knowing it had the E6 code. Replaced diverter drive motor (LG 4681EA1009H Motor Assembly,ac - AppliancePartsPros.com) first and it did not resolve the issue. From inside the tub I removed the pulsator cap , screw, and pulsator wash place to check for anything stuck in between and everything is clear.

When starting a cycle this is what happens:

  1. turn washer on using power button.
  2. select a cycle (tub clean, etc.)
  3. display shows icons for washing, etc.
  4. door locks
  5. drum will try and turn (like it kicks) about a quarter turn (I tilted up the washer to watch) about 6 times.
  6. display E6 error code.

I guess the next step is the actual clutch assembly (LG AEN73131403 Housing Assembly, clutch - AppliancePartsPros.com?) Put 50 bucks into a free washer so far and I’m not sure about dropping another 150 when I could get one for 200 off craigslist all day long. I like the capacity of this washer though and it’s very easy to work on. Any ideas for other things to try next?

That’s a lot of views for no one to have an opinion. lol

Replaced clutch assembly last night and same issue. So now the clutch assembly and the diverter motor listed in the first post have been replaced and I’m back at square one with the E6 code.

Any other ideas that don’t involve replacing the very expensive control board?
