Was given washer for free knowing it had the E6 code. Replaced diverter drive motor (LG 4681EA1009H Motor Assembly,ac - AppliancePartsPros.com) first and it did not resolve the issue. From inside the tub I removed the pulsator cap , screw, and pulsator wash place to check for anything stuck in between and everything is clear.
When starting a cycle this is what happens:
- turn washer on using power button.
- select a cycle (tub clean, etc.)
- display shows icons for washing, etc.
- door locks
- drum will try and turn (like it kicks) about a quarter turn (I tilted up the washer to watch) about 6 times.
- display E6 error code.
I guess the next step is the actual clutch assembly (LG AEN73131403 Housing Assembly, clutch - AppliancePartsPros.com?) Put 50 bucks into a free washer so far and I’m not sure about dropping another 150 when I could get one for 200 off craigslist all day long. I like the capacity of this washer though and it’s very easy to work on. Any ideas for other things to try next?
