LG Refrigerator Control Board issue or Panel lock up

I am still fighting with my refrigerator. Initial problem:
-Water will not dispense when selected
-Ice will not dispense when selected
Led changes position when pressed
Refrigerator is cooling and freezing normally

  1. Seems like door interlock issue so test the door mag switches with a strong magnet. Open door light is on, put magnet on door sensor it is off (so not that simple issue)
  2. Check ice maker, Unload it, An hour later full of ice (so not a water issue)
  3. I take apart the entire front panel (Not easy as there is no video for this model) Check the dispenser switch. it measures continuity when pressed repeatedly (so not the switch)
  4. No special event but now front panel lights are not on
  5. Measure voltage at the back of control panel 12V and 5V are OK
    Question: Refrigerator is cooling and freezing so the controller seems to be working except for light and controls. How is this possible if control card is wrecked?
    Question: Is there a lock on the front panel? How to disable?
    Question: any suggestions?

Replaced the control board and problem is fixed!!

Replacing the control board fixed the issue. Getting this apart was hard because there is no video. Here are some tips.
0) Unplug the refer

  1. Grip the bottom on each side pull down at 45degrees and here a snap. notice the hidden snaps on this view of the part
  2. Disengage the front panel at the top and top side
  3. Pull entire front panel toward you. The chrome ice dispenser stays in place.
  4. Disconnect the wires from the panel
  5. If you need to get to ice flapper motor. there are 3 screws to remover the front panel mount
  6. the water pipe will disconnect if you push the gray ring at the connector toward the inlet
  7. Test the ice/water switch by checking continuity of the switch when pressed at the large control board plug (the pink and the white wire, next to the blue wire). push switch and check
  8. you know the yest to reassemble
