Brand: LG
Model Number: LRMVC2306S/01
Main Symptom: refrigerator not cooling enough
What happens & when:
I have an LG Model LRMVC2306S/01 (06.2022). Counter depth 4-door french door style. It has the Full-Convert Drawer.
The refrigerator is set to 33 F but according to my Govee remote temperature sensor, it’s been occasionally hitting ~39 to 41 F starting a few days ago. I can see the average temperature in my history start to rise then. Last night it was bouncing between 35 and 39. Today it seems to be staying closer to 37-40.
The drawer (29 F) and the freezer (-7 F) both seem to be staying at their set temperatures.
I unplugged the unit (reset?) and cleaned the dust from the coils on the rear, which I do about once or twice a year. I also tried forcing defrost mode by holding the “Freezer” and “Ice Plus” buttons. The display only showed “S S” briefly and then went back to normal.
I am guessing it went into diagnostics mode, and according to the LG website “S S” means “shorted or open pantry sensor”. Not finding much info on Google for my model, but “pantry” means what, the drawer? However, the drawer compartment is fully sealed; no screws or seams so I don’t think the sensor is there.
Once I know the part number, where it’s at, and how to get into it, I should be able to change it. Can anyone help me identify exactly what part is indicated by fault code “S S” and where it’s located? Thank you!
Error Code (if any): “S S”
Parts or tests already tried: unplugged (reset), cleaned rear coils, and tried to force defrost mode, but instead got diagnostic code “S S”
