Brand:LG
Model Number: LMXS28596S/01
Main Symptom: Need help identifying correct fridge part
What happens & when: Trying to identify the correct harness to attach my compressor to the fridge body (must be specific for suffix /01). If you look at the fridge case parts schematic it lists the compressor (location 300A) but no compressor harness, PTC, overload or start relay. Been told that some of these parts are now built into the PCB but where is the compressor harness part number? There is a part number for the PTC cover, location 304A but no PTC or harness? (There is a harness listed for the ice maker, location 250F. ) Yes, I spoke with Appliance Parts Pro three times but to no avail. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
Error Code (if any):
Parts or tests already tried: phone calls, chats, research, repair techs, etc.

Here is a link to the wiring harness that would go from the compressor to the cabinet.

Hello team. #EAD64168629 harness is the same harness called out to connect the ice maker on both the 00/01 models. If you are saying I would ALSO use that same harness to connect the compressor to the cabinet, what do the long red wires with metal inserts clamp to? Wouldn’t they clamp to a thermistor assembly with overload switch, which is not called out for on the /01 schematic? The /00 model uses the #EAD64168606 to connect the compressor, overload and thermistor assembly to the cabinet. (Not the #EAD64168629 harness.) Please assist further. Thank you.
This harness is for the compressor and not the icemaker. As for connection, the red and blue wires will go to the round overload. The gray piece will connect to the compressor and the white connector will go to the cabinet.
Thank you very much Ed. If you look at the schematic diagram and the parts list for the /01, there is no overload protector part shown or listed, thus the confusion. Should I use the overload protector listed in the /00 model, part #6750-0002c? What about a thermistor (PTC) of any kind? Just wanting to be sure before purchase and install.
BTW some part suppliers are showing a different part for the ead64168629 harness assembly which adds to the confusion. Some photos of the part show red wires built into the plastic connector and others show loose red wires with metal clamps. Others show two rows (instead of three rows) on the plastic connector which inserts into the cabinet. All referencing the same part number.
I will await your response before purchasing. THANK YOU! You may not understand this has been a literal nightmare with weeks of research, calls, chats, emails as I was continually given conflicting information on the correct parts needed even from LG itself.
Hope to order parts ASAP. Jude
