LG LFXS26973D water dispenser in door randomly dispenses

Replaced microswitch under the paddle that was slow acting. Was taking longer to stop flow. Thought it might be giving a random signal. Did not fix the random on and off of water dispensing. Maybe once an hour or so

just dispensing on to the floor if no glass is left to catch the flow

this is approximately 4+ seconds of full flow. Not a leak or dribble stream…

Has there been any work done with the water valves at all? If not, this sounds like the water is dispensing at the same that the ice maker should be calling for water which could be a valve, control, or a diode failure.

Problem started without any valve changes

Agree it appears to match cycles of an ice maker meaning seconds on and time between cycles

Called lg and I think they said water valve.
They gave me the wrong part number for water valve. AJU72992601. Which is for a one ice maker refrig. This one has an ice maker in door and one in freezer drawer. Correct part would be AJU75632520.

The first part number is a portion of the correct valve assembly so I went ahead and tried it attaching the lower drawer valve to the part. No change to random dispensing

I disconnected the lower drawer valve by unplugging the wiring curious if it was firing and back bleeding some how Still random dispensing without the lower drawer valve

Talking with my wife this started at thanksgiving Few days before the city turned water off in neighborhood did some line work and turned back on Saw they bleed the line at a hydrant for several minutes so I did the same at a out side faucet to try and reduce cloudy water reaching the fridge
Not long enough Had to run 3-4 gallons thru the door to get rid of the cloudy water

About the next week the dispenser paddle/ switch started slow closing Meaning when you took the glass away it would dispense another second on to the floor ok so take the glass away slowly
But then it also started random dispensing can’t take the glass away slowly enough for that so ok I purchased the micro switch and replaced
No more slow flow stop just the random dispensing

so I shut the valve off at the wall and just do without until the holiday dust settled and started trying to resolve again today That was the partly correct water valveI’m stumped is there another water valve in my the door or is the valve at the back bottom open the line up all the way to the dispenser

Repeating previous …sounds and water delivery all match just like pressing the dispenser paddle

I see people asking on the internet about the same problem. It’s not leaking. It’s a full stream. But I don’t see any real answer to resolve.

There is a water valve in the left door and it is responsible for sending water to the in door ice maker as well as the dispenser. There is an access panel behind the bottom door bin that can be removed. Once it is removed, set a multimeter to Volts AC and place the meter probes at the solenoid wires with the white tubing collar. Once that is done, open the ice maker door and press the reset button on the bottom of the ice maker motor. When the ice maker finishes the harvest and calls for water, is there voltage at the valve solenoid with the white collar and if not, did water dispense? If water did dispense but there was no voltage at the specified solenoid, the dual valve is leaking by and replacing it should fix the issue. MJX41869202 Water Inlet Valve | Genuine Lg OEM In Stock
