**Model Number:**LNXS30866
**Main Symptom:**Does nothing when the test button is activated What happens & when: ice maker stopped working. Does not fill with water and does nothing when the test button is hit.
Error Code (if any): IS E
Parts or tests already tried: Replace the ice maker but no change. Checked thermistor sensor in the ice maker and it is reading perfectly for the temperature. The water fill valve will operate if activated but it is not getting the signal to do so. The ice level arm on the old unit and the new one installed move freely. Not sure what I should read for the level sensor at the connector on the PCB when it is activated. The service manual does not say. My concern is why no response from the ice maker from the test button? Thinking the main PCB may have a problem. I can not tell from the electrical drawing I have where to check for power to the ice maker.

The error indicates there is a failure either with a sensing room thermistor, an ice maker thermistor, the wires leading to them, or the main control. As the ice maker has been replaced, this would eliminate the sensors as the cause. This brings it down to either it is a wire failure or a main control failure. With the power supply cord unplugged, the ice room sensor can be tested using the two blue wires at connection CON 5 pin 11 and pin 12. There should be a resistance around 16K to 20K Ohms. The ice maker sensor can be tested using the white wire and the white wire with red stripe at connection CON4 pin 1 and pin 2. If there is not a resistance reading at either test point, that particular circuit has a broken wire. If both have resistances within the range provided, the main control would be the issue. Thank you for the reply. Con. 5 pin 11 and 12 are reading perfect and conn. 4 pin 1 and 2 are open but I wasn’t sure what it should read as on the drawing it looked to me that it ran through the test switch and the display control board. There is a wiring connector just before the harness goes through the door hinge where the red/white wire changes to blue/white and the white continues through the connector, but on my drawing it comes to the display board blue/white and red/white. That’s why I’m not sure I have the correct drawing. Or more likely I’m just not reading it correctly. Would the ice maker test button not cycle the the ice maker with that sensor circuit open?
