I did not find too much support for my LG LFX25960ST bottom freezer with French door in this site but I know the knowledge is here. I’m getting a error code “ER 1F” and the problem indicate to be a ice fan motor signal not detected. The troubleshoot steps indicate the possibly of the fan motor or the main PCB. The error resets every 20 min or so and it continue to make ice at a slower pace. This indicate to me that the Ice fan motor is still blowing and perhaps the main PCB is becoming unstable and not detecting the motor’s presence. My dilemma is to buy both parts around $150 or have a tech come onsite and LG has a 7 years warranty on close system what every that means and pay for the labor. Both parts are somewhat easy to access but LG will not reimburse me for the part directly. Any suggestion?

“Closed system” means a sealed or a cooling system. It does not include any of these two parts, so you probably will pay just a service fee to LG tech for doing nothing.
I do not know much about LG refrigerators, but if you believe your diagnosis is correct and you feel you can do it yourself - do it.

Thanks Gene, this has been the most troublesome appliance I’ve every own even worst then my 1st gen Maytag Neptune.
If you are going to buy any Kenmore laundry machine or refrigerator, be careful. Sears now sells LG as Kenmore. Make sure you know who made it before buying.

After a bare three months of operation, we suffered the dread ER1F error. In our case, it was because someone loaded up the top rack in the bottom (freezer) door with frozen juice containers. The door looked closed but was 1/2 in open, so refrigerator ran all night but even so, couldn’t keep up with the temperature rise. By morning we had the error code and the system had shut itself down (thawing accelerating).
Our model had the nifty ‘Hold Your Telephone Here and Let The Appliance Communicate Its Error Code Automatically to the Mothership’ but of course, tech support at Sears was not hip to this feature and didn’t know how (or didn’t care to try) to connect their LG Diagnostic computer to our frig.
Service tech was dispatched and it took all of about 10 minutes for him to fix what he characterized as an Icemaker error code. I wasn’t there, but it sounds as if all he did was reset the frig by turning it off, waiting a minute or so, and turning it back on. Maybe he turned the icemaker Off, then did the reset, then turned the Icemaker back On.
Anyway, all was fine until four weeks ago, when ER 1F error code returned. This time the freezer door was still closed, and repeated attempts by me to duplicate the Reset provided only intermittent results. Error code returned within 15 minutes to 2 hours later. Suspecting the Icemaker, and not really caring all that much about ice, anyway, I turned Off the Icemaker and reset the frig. Still have error code!
Any further clues to this innocuous (frig still works; uses default temperature settings, which are fine) but frustrating error situation since your posts back in 2011???
Thanks in advance,
Roger

WHERE IS the icemaker fan motor??!? Do I have to pull the refrigerator out from the wall/is it in back?! I took the icemaker out but the fan motor is not there!
Thanks for any tips or clues.
