Leaky diverter motor

Brand: Kitchen Aid
Model Number:KDTM354DSS4
Main Symptom:leaking diverter motor
What happens & when: I have a KitchenAid Dishwasher KDTM354DSS4. The filter on the motor failed. I have replaced it and also replaced the seal from the motor to the sump pump. I have a small leak. I finally mounted and plumbed the dishwasher outside the house so I could view get under the dishwasher to locate the leak. The motor filter is dry as well as the hose now clamped leading to the sump pump. A small amount of water is coming from the diverter motor. It is mostly dripping from the circular opening but a small amount of water is dripping from outside of the circular opening. Definitely no water is coming from the fore mentioned hose above. Do I need to replace the diverter motor only or is this an indication of a greater problem? Should I be replacing the entire round assembly housing the motor and everything else?
Kind regards, John Zannini

It is easier to replace the whole assembly, sump, motor, diverter, all of it. It is more expensive but not prone to a leak like doing it in different pieces.

Thank you for your input. I’ll replace all of it. I appreciate your expertise, time and prompt response.

Howdy David. I took your advice to heart. Three days ago I was able to successfully replace the entire assembly. It took me awhile to determine I was missing the plastic retainer on the diverter pump to hold the wire connector in place. Dishwasher works as if new again. So glad to keep this appliance out of the landfill, giving it new life. I learned so much on this endeavor. I appreciate your help.
