Atlantis Maytag top load laundry will not spin. Motor runs. Replaced belt. Tube is very difficult to rotate by hand. Suspect trans. How do I check? How do I remove the trans?

The standard problem with spinning on these models is the thrust bearing, this part here.
It is not a difficult change out and instructions should be included.
