My Sears Kenmore washing machine’s Timer intermittantly or rarely works. The knob which pulls out/pushes in and turns the dial just spins. I just ordered a new knob, Dial and Timer from Sears online but can not figure out how to remove the knob and dial. I don’t see any set screws, pins or snap rings holding them to the shaft of the timer.
Thanks in advance,
Robert
There are two ways the knob comes off on these models. I think on yours it will unscrew if you push it in. This will get you to the two screws that hold the timer on to the console.
The second method has a tab on the back of the timer inside the console. Pull it out and the knob comes off.
Thanks for the response on how to remove the knob. I had to hold the shaft in the back of timer because it was spinning as I tried to unscrew the knob. The knob unscrewed by turning it counter clockwise. In case anyone else has to replace their timer or knob or dial, here are the numbers:
Timer: 3954810, Dial: 3949428, Knob: 3948416.
Again, thanks for the answer, I would never have figured it out on my own.

Great, glad you got it off and thanks for the update.
