I have a Kitchenaid superba electric oven that will not heat up. It is a wall mount w/microwave on top. Last night my wife used the self cleaning feature that heats it up for hours and today no heat on the elements. Everything else (control panel and fans) seems to be OK just no heat. Any advice on what is most likley causing the problem?
Here are your parts

First try flipping your breaker off/on slowly a couple times. Sometimes you can loose half the line without actually tripping the breaker and the elements in the oven require the full 240 volts.
If this does nothing check that you have the correct voltage at the oven.
L1 to Neutral and L2 to Neutral both should be 120 volts.
L1 to L2 should be 240 volts.
Be very careful as 240 volts is lethal!!!
If OK
Remove power from the unit and check the thermal overload (Item 37 in Section 1), should be 0 ohms.

Thank you so much for all the help! I have checked voltages and tried resetting the breaker…no dice. I have the oven almost out but I am going to wait till tomorrow when I have a friend helping me to get it out of the wall so I can check the termal fuse. (they sure don’t make it easy to get to!)
I have the same problem and was wondering what the outcome was of yours.
Thanks.
yes the termal fuse fixed it (was a real pain in the butt to get at though) thanks you for all your help
yes the thermal fuse fixed it, check the links denman posted if you have the same model it will be a big help as it is hard to get to (have to remove microwave then remove unit from wall) that is the way manual says but you could get it out without removing microwave but it will be VERY HEAVY if you dont remove microwave first and will be TOP HEAVY to boot so that is why manual says to remove it
I ordered the part. Hopefully it will fix it.
Thanks for your help.

It does fix it. Be sure you ordered the sensor inside the oven, too. My oven wouldn’t heat up after cleaning either, but everything else seemed to be working. It’s a bit of a pain pulling it out, cutting off electrical, etc., but relatively easy to replace the 2 parts. Make a note not to ever use the self cleaning feature again, though! Not worth $100 in parts
thanks for the advice…same problem.
Absolutely the BEST use of internet forums … help when you need it! Relatively easy fix, but I’m disappointed in KitchenAid as their products are generally the best out there.
This seems to be a glitch in this particular brand. I too, used the self clean last night, and today (Christmas Eve!!!) no heat from my oven. Guess I’ll have to wait til after the holidays for the part to come in. No turkey for us
I just bought the fuse and used electrical tape. $4 and it lasted 5 years.
turns out this is a huge flaw with the built-in model - the oven overheats when the self cleaning mode is on and fries the heating element. Tech suggested to not use self clean on this self-clean model. I guess I will think twice before buying a self cleaning wall oven.
