I’m having a problem with my Kitchen Aid’s front right burner (low BTU).
Flame hieght is minimal to non-existant. I found an adjustment procedure online and it had little effect. I swapped the exposed burner components with other burners and that had no effect. All components look clean and in good condition. I think I need to replace the control valve for that burner but I don’t know how to open the range top. I can’t find any online manuals and our users manual doesn’t tell how to open the top either. Can you help explain how this is done? Is there anything else I should check before replacing the valve?
Remove the burner cap and using a toothpick or something similar to it, clean the orifice.

Gene, One of the first things I did was to swap the orifice with another burner. Problem persisted on the same burner and did not move to the swapped location.
Sorry for the delay.
Then the problem is a bad gas burner valve. Sorry for the bad news but this part has been permanently discontinued by the manufacturer. You can search by yourself. The part number is 975534.

So then my only option is to try to fix the valve- in which case I need to open the range top. Can you help me dermine how to get it open without risking any breakage?
[quote=Gene;720559]I don’t think it’s repairable but you can try. The instructions are attached.

Gene, I’m unable to open the word doc. I tried opening directly from your link and also tried saving it first. Any chance you might send it directly to my email or in some other format? Thanks for your help.
Try it now.
