Main Symptom:agitator shaft is loose small metal shaving
What happens & when: My model number does not contain the 5 at the end of the letters bit it is the pro600. When I attach the attachments the agitator shaft is loose and moves up and down. I notice grease on my dough and have seen very fine metal on the bottom of my stand. The planetary (9708662) is discontinued. Could I just replace the pinion gear and agitator shaft to fix the problem?

The metal shavings can be from the gear in the planetary or it could potentially be from inside the main housing and would be worth checking to ensure the planetary gear is the only cause for the shavings. For the agitator shaft, the loose connection could be caused by the pinion or even a damaged retainer clip and inspection would be the best bet.
