Brand: KitchenAid
Model Number: KFCS22EVWH1
Main Symptom: button pad failure
What happens & when: Fridge stuck at 33 degrees. Buttons unresponsive. No success attempting to adjust the temperature up to 38 degrees. Stays stuck at 33 degrees. Suspect the membrane in the control panel failed? Would like a second opinion and if the case, is this the right part to order (WPW10116216)? Or do you suspect something else. Power cycling the fridge made no difference. Registered 43 after power cycle. Pressed the down button and immediately jumped to 33. Thanks!
Error Code (if any): No
Parts or tests already tried: Power cycling the fridge made no difference. Jumped from 43 to 33 when pressing the down arrow once.

That’s going to be either the overlay WPW10317133 or the user interface board WPW10116216 that you referenced. Unfortunately the overlay has been discontinued by the manufacturer and is no longer available for purchase. The manufacturer does not list a compatible substitute or replacement part, but the user interface board is still available.

Hi Rory, out of curiosity, I removed the Whirlpool WPW10116216 Control Board (User Interface) OEM Part to visually inspect for potential damage, of which there was none. After reinstalling, for whatever reason, the button pad is functioning normally. I’ll continue to monitor, but all good for now. Thank you.
