Kitchenaid KBFS20EVMS2 Not Cooling

**Brand: Kitchenaid
**Model Number: KBFS20EVMS2
**Main Symptom: Not Cooling
**What happens & when: When unit powers on, lights turn on, displays light, large condenser fan in back of unit spins. After several hours, the fridge and freezer compartments are still around 50-60 degrees.

Error Code (if any): No error codes
Parts or tests already tried:
Replaced run capacitor and compressor start device.

Something else that may be worth noting. The main controls do not respond to button presses at all and there’s no way to lock/unlock the controls. This has been an issue for a while but it hasn’t been a concern since the display is on and shows the correct setting for freezer (0) and fridge (38).

The morning the fridge stopped cooling, the power went out for a few seconds and then came back on. By Noon, I noticed the freezer was around 10 degrees even though all doors were shut. By the end of the day, the freezer was around 20 and the fridge was around 45.

Any help from here would be appreciated.

What does the evaporator look like? If there is no frost, and if you have a multimeter handy, the compressor can be tested for an incoming 120VAC. If voltage is present, but there is not a frost pattern on the evaporator, then there is a sealed system failure that would require a tech to repair it.
