We just purchased a Kitchenaid electric range with glass cook top. The glass top was broken when an object fell on it and shattered it. I have seen several posts about fixing this, including replacing just the glass or replacing the cooktop for the range. I believe this would be something we could install on our own. Is this an easy repair? Should we replace the cooktop and not just the glass? Thank you.

I just see the glass which is called “cooktop”, Item 4 Section 2.
Note they list 3 so you will have to check with the parts people to make sure you get the correct one. Could be they are different colors.

You will just confuse things by hijacking someone else’s thread especially since you have a different problem on a different model number.
