Grinder plate stuck, does not have WhamJam button. How do I lock the motor to remove the grinder plate?
before you remove disposer check underneath in the center for a hole that will accept an allen wrench. some disposers came with one. if it has one take an allen wrench and see if you can break loose the plate by moving back and forth. sounds like something is stuck between the plate and the grinding wall. if it does not have a wrench receptacle, i usually take a large screwdriver and run it around the edge of the plate againts the wall to see if i can remove obstruction
