KitchenAid dishwasher quit running

Dishwasher ran one day and not the next. Checked power to unit, yes. Checked power to door switch, yes. Control panel does not light up. Is the problem a bad electronic control board?
Thank s for your help

Have you checked the thermal fuse by or on the control board.

If it is blown be sure to use the new wiring harness with it.

I picked up a new bi-metal and tried jumping connection before installing it, machine still wasn’t working, installed the new bi-metal and picked up a new control board, installed it and everything was good.

I think it makes complete sense that even changing the bi-metal didn’t correct the problem since something on the board must have over-heated to trip it, as it is designed to do thus preventing something more dramatic from happening.

So thanks for your guidance, it really saved me some time and frustration!

We’re also having problems with our KitchenAid and one of the suggestions is to check the thermal fuse. Apparently KitchenAid/Whirlpool units are notorious for blowing them out.

On our particular model, we had to take the whole “motherboard” off because the fuse was held down by a clip, which could not be accessed from the front. You might also be able to test it in place.

Good luck. Unfortunately it wasn’t what was wrong with ours, but hopefully yours is that easy of a fix.
