Kitchen renovation

Someone told me the best advice of buying new appliances are getting from the repairman. For all the experienced folks out there, would you please help?
I am looking for the best track repair records appliances-
Following is the list of my planning:
viking-36 gas range
GE/Viking- single wall oven
Kobe-Range hood
Boush-dish washer
Does anyone have any of these appliances-good or bad are gratefully appreciated.
I am open to any good appliances as well. If you have a “Do not Buy” list,
it will be a good reference.
Thanks & have a great day!

Thanks for your reply. Your answer reassures my love to viking products. I know lots of people complain about the ignition problem. What is the other issue you have? Is it the oven door hinge come loose? I just went to Karl’s get a price quote for the 36 gas range 6 burners. Do you think I should also get the $259 extended warranty? What do you think the kitchen aid single oven?
I was persuaded by the salesman to get miele dishwasher. What do you have for fridge? I want to get a four door, french door top and two drawers bottom freezer. Samsung is not good, GE has lots of complaints. Please help!

Subzero is a bit too pricey for us. Do you like it? In your opinion, is there any good fridge out there besides Subzero? I am torn by all of these bad fridge review. My final take now is: Viking 6 burners cook range, miele single oven, steamer, Kobe range hood, and Fridge- maybe miele but really breaking our bank. Do you have any thoughts of all? I will check out whirlpool single oven, but why will you recommend it?
Thanks,

Just my 2 cents

I would look at Whirlpool.
The main reason is that they are fairly open about technical info.
Also they sell lots of units and therefore the likely hood of getting parts down the road is better.
Many outlets repair them so finding a qualified repair person in the future should not be difficult.

Bosch used to be rated highly by many, then they started selling units in volume and now show up often on repair forums, just because you do not see a unit on the web does not mean that they are good, could be that they just do not have the units in the field.

Also I would buy what meets your basic requirements the more bells & whistles the more that can go wrong.

The only do not buy I have is Samsung. When they break getting qualified/knowlegable service is very difficult.
The other one I do not care for is GE, they keep their info secret which may keep their techs busy but often rules out a DIYer from repairing the unit.

As the weekend past by, so much about my thoughts of the appliances.
I have switched back to something that you won’t believe, a possible subzero fridge. I thought it was expensive and then realize good one out there will cost that much. How do you like your subzero? what year and model?
How do you compare sub and thermador fridge?
thanks again!
