Kitchen Aid Retractable Downdraft Vent System

I have a Kitchen Aid down draft vent system (Model#: KIRD861HSS-0 and serial # FJM0611718). The unit is about 6 years old.

Recently I have lifted the hood to clean the filters. I have re-installed the filters in the vent after cleaning them and then pushed the button on the right hand side of the vent to make the vent go down. The vent moved down and sat in position (sat in line with the cooking range). Unfortunately the vent appears to be permanently stuck there. I am not able to raise the vent again by pushing the button on the top of the vent. When I press the button, neither the mechanism that raises the vent nor the suction motor is working. It appears that there is no power supply to the suction motor and the raising mechanism.

I would like to know if the problem is due to something I did while cleaning and re-installing the filters or due to something else. Any suggestions to make the vent system work again would be greatly appreciated.

I have same problem. It is due to one of the filters is loose. I do not know how to fix it. Have you fix the problem?
The filter elements are mostly likely not correctly in place so the latch is not tripping the micro-switch. Using a flash light this was clear by looking down into the front edge of the vent unit. I could see the element edge and the latch of the filter element. It wasn’t latched tight. I used a paint scraper (two). Gently i nserted it while also using a flash light to see. I was able to lever and jiggle the filter element back into place and latch it. This activates the control. Then the unit would raise. I double checked the filter latches to be sure they were tightly closed.
