Kitchen Aid dual fuel, can I match light during power outage?

Can we match light the gas range top of this dual fuel (or any gas range) without the electric service? Seems it won’t work on our just delivered but not electrified unit. Is there a super safety switch somewhere? Thanks, Michael

Yes there is.

Can I change it allow gas to flow, and mach light range top burners, during power outages? Didn’t see any mention in the book… Thsnks

Your model number is missing the last couple digits so you will have to choose one from the Matching Model Numbers section.

See the attachment for the tech sheet.

This is a safety device so I would not mess with it.

Your gas range top appears to have a gas “safety solenoid valve” that feeds the valve manifold. If so it requires power to operate. Other models of “spark” ignitor range top burners can light with a match unless they are solenoid controlled first.

If your unit is new the gas lines may not be purged of air yet.

Also the factory usually sets these for natural gas. If you are using propane the unit would need to be converted which involves the unit’s pressure regulator and the burner gas orifices.
