Kitchen Aid Dryer Help!

I have a Kitchen aid suberba dryer. I read a couple of forums and made sure the unit was clog free before posting. No such luck. It takes way to long to dry. I checked for the heating element to have non working coils. I did look and see only half working. The thing i find confusing is that the only way the coils come on is when the dryer is stopped, and the timer is still on ( open the door in the middle of the cycle) This unit comes with the moisture sense dry. Could this be any easy fix ? The heaing element is 50.00- 60.00…

Check to see if the heating coil hasn’t been shorted and touching ground (meaning the coil touching the metal casing). That would cause the heater to be on even when the dryer is off and the timer in the on position. If that’s the case, replace heater.

All I know is that it takes several long cycles to dry the clothes and I don’t know what to do.

I would start your own thread in this forum, use “POST NEW TOPIC”.
Remember to include a Model Number and Make.
Describe the problem and what if anything you have done so far.

The most common cause for long dry times is a dirty or malfunctioning vent system.

Also if you use fabric softener check the lint screen to ensure that it is clear of softener residue. If coated, clean it with soap and water.
