kicks out of spin cycle when slightly out of balance

Hi, I recently repaired an overfill issue in this machine by replacing the pressure switch and the machine works great now, except for a spin problem when say a sweater is the only item in the machine. The out of balance threshold seems to be lower than it used to be. We have to wring out the excess water and then run the spin cycle again, this seems to work most of the time:confused: Any thoughts? thanks in advance, Phil

Well the problem is that on this model you have four switches that detect balance problems and there are wired in series, which means any one of the four could be causing your problem.

The four are

  1. Strut Displacement Switch
  2. Inertial Unbalance Switch
  3. Lower Tub Displacement Switch
  4. Upper Tub Displacement Switch

or the CCU might be the problem.

These Neptune’s have been nothing but trouble, and my recommendation is to try and live with it, and if that is not possible, try replacing the switches one by one and see if that fixes things.

Wish I could be more definitive, (I blame Maytag, not me)

Thank you, I’ll check those switches…P:)

Ok, let us know how things turn out, will be interesting to myself and those who read this Forum.
