Keypad going bad after power outage

The keypad is making a constant high pitched sound and the dw will not operate. I turned the breaker off and when I turn it back on, the sounds resumes. This is the second keypad that I’ve replaced. They both have gone bad after a normal power outage. I’ve ordered another keypad, but question if there is another problem.?.

I would check that the ground wire is connected properly.
Also check it at the plug to be sure the wiring there is also OK.

It would be a good idea to put this unit on a surge protector.

I have a PDW9280J00SS and am on at least my 4th keypad in just over 5 years. I have even replaced the control module twice since I was sure something else was causing the problems - that the keypads couldn’t fail that much. I’ve also replaced the wiring to the DW and put in a new GFI circuit breaker. I called GE and asked if they had problems with this keypad, of course they said “no.” I even had them come out once and all they were going to do was replace the keypad. This last one went bad in about a month - a new record. APP Customer Service recommended I check in the Forum first in case there was a some kind of service bulletin from GE related to this. I haven’t seen that but am new to this Forum and don’t really know my way around yet. This is the first thing I’ve run across in my search and it sounds like the exact same thing.
