i have a washer that will not spin or agitate. replaced the coupler on it and it worked for a little bit but went back to not working again it will not spin or agitate. does anyone know what the hell they are doing with washers…this is so stressful with no damn washer
The first thing I would do is check to make sure the new coupling is on right and is not a problem.
I understand your stress from these repairs, and if it is too great then I think you should consider having a service tech make the repair for you.
Ok, . . . if the machine was “klack”-ing, then the coupler needed to be replaced, but the first thing I check for is the lid switch gone bad. I bypass the lid switch with a piece of insulated 14 ga wire (a small piece of Romex does fine, strip the ends of the insulation about 1/2", and place one end of the wire into the side of the Molex connector that has the black wire coming from the timer, and the other end of your bypass in the side of the Molex connector with the white wire). Then, turn the dial on the timer to see if it will fill and advance through the cycles. If so, then the lid switch needs to be replaced. If the timer doesn’t advance by itself, . . . then the timer needs to be replaced. Only when the coupler is making a real racket, like "klack"ing does the coupler need to be replaced.
