That symptom points more toward the cleaner/add-cleaner sensing circuit than the main control board.

When you press Clean, the unit sees the cleaner condition as not satisfied, so it gives the audible tone and turns on ADD CLEANER even though cleaner is present. Since the control board has already been replaced with no change, I would not replace it again.

Check next:

  • Cleaner reservoir/dispenser: Verify it is actually supplying cleaner and isn’t clogged or air-locked.
  • Cleaner level sensor / switch: Test the sensor and its connector. The control may not be receiving the “cleaner present” signal.
  • Wiring: Inspect the harness from the cleaner sensor/dispenser back to the control for loose terminals, corrosion, or broken wires.
  • Sensor activation: If the cleaner sensor uses a float, make sure the float moves freely and isn’t stuck.
  • If the sensor and wiring test correctly, verify the clean-cycle start interlocks before replacing additional parts.

Most likely based on the symptom: cleaner level sensor/switch, its wiring, or the cleaner dispensing system—not the new control board.
