Hello I have the 24" stackable washer/dryer from Sears/Kenmore. The dryer takes three hours to dry one load. It is an electric dryer. The drum spins, I can feel that it gets warm but something is wrong as it takes so long for clothes to actually dry. The dryer is installed on a boat that I work on which is currently in St Maarten/Caribbean so I will have to do the repairs myself. I’m not sure what part to replace. Air is venting properly. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Tami
Dryers work slowly to dry because (1) restricted air flow, (2) blower not up to speed, (3) lack of sufficient heat.
I assume your drum is tumbling at the correct speed and that the clothes going in have been thoroughly spun out and are as dry as they should be.
If you did not already do so, I would take off the lint chute and check it for an obstruction, and at the same time make sure your blower is not broken. If you can run the model with the back off watch to see that the heating element comes on and off and is not grounded or partially broken.
Good luck.
Thank you for your guidance. I’m going to try all the things you suggested. By thoroughly cleaning out the lint chut it helped tremendously. Merci. Tami
Good, a lot of times that’s all it takes
