My washing machine wont spin or drain all the water out and makes a clicking sound like there are gears stripped. Could it be the motor coupler or maybe something else?
The rear shaft of the motor goes directly into the pump, so if it is not draining the coupling is not the problem. Check the pump and clear it of any obstruction if there is one, and then since the motor does ok during agitation check out the brakes. If the brakes are releasing then the transmission may be the problem.
