I have a problem with the lower door being too low. I need to adjust the door upward but the bracket is not slotted to allow this. I wonder if I can buy a new bracket that will allow me to adjust the door up. There was also a screw left out of the lower bracket and I need to get another one. can you help me with this problem?

253 comes up as an air conditioner.

I have a 253 as well and this is the only place I could get the model number to work.

Looks like they have a door closure plate/cam.
Check that yours is still there, often they are made of plastic and break.
