My icemaker quit making ice. I noticed some ice buildup on the bottom of the icemaker. So I defrosted the freezer for about 5 hours, took the assembly out, cleaned it and put it back. Still nothing. Then I checked continuity on the valve it is good. The icemaker itself will run through its cycle.
Can anyone help. Thank you

Just because the valve has continuity does not mean that it is good as it may have internal mechanical problems.
Is there any way I can test that?
See the below manual.
You have to be careful because it covers a number of different units.
Unclick the “Download with Secured Download manager” option
Then use the grey download button.
Otherwise the site may put software on your computer that you do not want.
Download Whirlpool Icemaker Troubleshooting.pdf
If it does not fill when you manually force it.
Measure the voltage across the valve.
If it is 120 volts when forcing it.
Remove the ice maker water line at the valve and blow through it to be sure it is not frozen.
If OK then replace the valve.
