Kenmore oven temp troubleshooting

Hello, I recently discovered why foods are not cooking through in my Kenmore oven, model 66592012102. The temperature programmed in the display differs from the temperature measured by an oven thermometer by about 75ºF less. The calibration mentioned in the user guide only goes as far as 30º either way, which tells me something must be wrong with either the control board or the oven sensor. Any tips on troubleshooting so I replace the correct part? Many thanks!

I am assuming that the oven shows that it is ready but the actual oven temperature is low.

Below is a link to info on the oven sensor, look at 7, 8, 20 and 21.

Perhaps unplug the unit and the oven sensor and check the resistance.

If OK odds are that it is a control board problem.

I would check where the sensor attaches to the board for a cold solder joint.
They are usually a duller silver color and or have pin holes. A magnifying glass helps here. As you can see the sensor resistance rises as temperature rises so if a bad solder joint is adding resistance the unit will run cold.

Thanks for the inputs denman, I will be checking the sensor for resistance next and see what I find. I had not thought about the cold solder joints, another good idea to check. Not doing much baking now after the holiday rush so I have time to do that. Much obliged..
