Kenmore not draining completely

I have a Kenmore 70 Series washer that will not drain completely. After each wash cycle it sounds like there is about 1 inch of water in the bottom of the basket. The clothes complete the wash cycle and come out smelling mike mildew. When the spin cycle ends and the drum stops spinning, I can hear the water in the bottom sloshing around. I took apart the washer (which was very difficult) to inspect and found that the “bowl” the wash basket sits in is made of plastic and is covered in mold. I sprayed a mildicide into the basket holes to try and clean it but there is still a small amount of water in the bottom of the washer after each cycle.

  1. What can I do to get all the water to drain from the washer after each cycle?
  2. How can I clean the inside of the washer? I was not able to disassemble the basket and get at the mildew to clean.

Thanks

The balance ring(part of the tub) is the water that you hear, Its normal!!! To CLEAN the washer out, Pour in 1 cup of calgon water softner, and 1 cup of CLEAR amonia, Fill the machine with HOT water ONLY!!! let it go through a complete cycle, REPEAT TWICE!!! ALL ODOR AND MOLD will be gone!!! REPEAT 1 time each year and you should be ‘all set’
