Kenmore model#79049079402 resets when starting bake

Hello Forum,

My Kenmore elite wall oven (Model#79049079402) has started to reset to PF (Clock resets to 12:00 - like an initial power up) whenever I program it to cook (bake, warm, broil, etc). There are no error codes. I’m usually successful after a couple of attempts (after it resets, I press STOP, set the clock and try again - BAKE, TEMP, START), but this is an issue that I’d like to address. Any ideas on what the issue could be??

I had the same problem show up this week on our Kenmore Elite model C970-600133 (double oven electric range).

Did you find a solution to your problem?

I had to replace the control board (the unit with the clock). I found a reconditioned unit for approx. $140. It has worked perfectly since I installed it.

Thanks for replying. I found a posting in a different forum that said to shut off the power to the oven for 5 minutes to reset the board. That worked - at least for now. We’ll see if it lasts. Hopefully I can avoid replacing the board!
